I am working on White-naped Tit, an endemic and highly vulnerable species of India. Today while analyzing some data I just came to know about the habitat fragmentation is the major cause for it's population decline. Habitat fragmentation may sound a common word but originated from a chain reaction of small factors.Mining, stone crushing, cutting, lopping above all ever increasing human and livestock population posing threat to the survival of this species.

Conservationist always blame economical growth, but forget to involve local communities when talk about conservation. Local communities who themselves facing a threat of unavailability of resources, is in dilemma of this concept of "Conservation". Whether they are only responsible for degradation of habitat like cutting and lopping or we are responsible for our economical growth which is actual criminal behind all this degradation.
